Alex Rodriguez, Marc Lore respond to owner's claim that Timberwolves are 'no longer for sale'  

Although Glen Taylor declared on Thursday that the transaction was off, A-Rod and Lore are saying he is experiencing "seller's regret."  

Owner Glen Taylor said on Thursday that the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx are no longer for sale.  

According to Taylor, Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore, two potential purchasers, missed their deadline to finalize the agreement.  

Taylor was to be paid in installments by Lore and Rodriguez upon their agreement to purchase a majority ownership in the franchises for an estimated $1.5 billion in 2021.  

By Wednesday, the deal was expected to be completed.The Taylor news release:  

The option for Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez to purchase a controlling stake in the Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Limited Partnership ("Timberwolves and Lynx") has expired,   

That has sparked talk throughout the league that Charlotte's new executive office, las confirmed this morning by Glen Taylor, Chairman of Taylor Sports Group, Inc., the general partner of the Timberwolves and Lynx.  ed by Jeff Peterson, may try to trade for Ball.   

As stipulated in the acquisition agreement, the closure had to take place ninety days after Lore and Rodriguez sent out the exercise notice.
